The countdown to the 2006 Gumball 3000 rally is started. Next week they will be expecting more then 200.000 people who will be watching the amazing kick off!

1. What got you started racing in the Gumball?

-I started to follow the Gumball in 1999. It’s the first year I have the time and the money to participate to this great event.

2. What attracted you to the race and what made you want to enter?
-Meeting incredible people from different countries and from different horizons, sometime a little bit crazy

As we announced last week, Team Satan from New Zealand is entering the 2006 Gumball rally. They will participating with three stunning cars; a Bentley Arnage, Lamborghini LM002 and a 1969 Pullman! With less then 10 days before the start, here is a nice interview with team Satan.

Uno Gomez will doing the 2006 Gumball rally in a green F430. Uno gave a short interview which you can read here.

1. What got you started racing in the Gumball?
+ The idea to run in 6 days 3 continents; it’s like the old movie “Around the World in 80 Days”. At that time they thought the guys were crazy and now the same is happening to us. My friends asked me if I was crazy to get into this kind of stress and paying that much for it [Gumball]. Very few people believe that we can really handle it to all make it to LA. So I think this is a big challenge that you can go for once in your life.

2. What attracted you to the race and what made you want to enter?
+ With the first answer you can understand why. The thing is to meet some people every year from the last race. You drive through places where you never thought you would go through. All these cars and people are together for an adventure; nights without sleeping. crazy driving scenes. and much more.

Just 3 weeks left to the official start of the Gumball 2006. It will be an amazing spectacle at every Gumball checkpoint. The Gumball gets more and more a word wide reputation. This year participants comes from all over the world. One of the participants is an Austrialian guy. His name is James Striker and the Independent Monthly interviewed him about the Gumball. Just read this nice newspaper article.

2002 was the year that Rob Dyrdek and Josh Kalis first entered the Gumball 3000 rally, as the race started in New York City and finished in Los Angeles. In 2003, the rally goes from San Francisco to Miami. In 2004, Dyrdek once again entered the Gumball, which had returned to Europe. Rob teamed up with Big Black to push a BMW X5 through Europe and into Northern Africa. In the 2005 rally, Rob Dyrdek drove for the third time the rally with some tuned Subaru WRX.  The famous skateboarder was interviewed about the Gumball rally. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Dyrdek for the great interview he gave.
