Dutch Goverment wants to banning the Gumball 3000

The Justice Ministry is looking at the possibility of banning international road rallies from the Dutch highways after two cars were seized when the international Gumball 3000 rally passed through the Netherlands on Sunday.
One Porsche and a Ferrari were confiscated after being driven at speeds of over 200 kph and overtaking on the right. Seven drivers, including US rapper and Pimp my Ride tv host Xzibit, lost their licences for breaking speed limits by over 50 kph.
‘There were no accidents but that is a question of luck,’ spokesman Koos Spee told the AD newspaper. ‘They were forcing other road users out of the way and we will not tolerate that.’
Some 70 drivers were also stopped for speeding in Germany. There were also incidents in Belgium, ANP reported. The cars will return through the Netherlands on their way back to London on May 6, but after changing the route it’s a big question if the Dutch Goverment let them go. (more…
