Polizei Kommandant Herr Alex Roy has convened with Masterpilot Michael Ross in preparation for the scofflaw-crushing assault upon European roads. As always, the Polizei are testing their equipment and ensuring that the last of the E39 M5 Interceptor’s systems are all in proper precise working order. Kommt morgen, Polizei HQ will have a special announcement from Herr Roy.
3000 Miles DVD first video preview

A couple of dayssees the release of 3000 miles, the official documentary film of the 2006 Gumball Rally directed by its creator Maximillion Cooper. Tony Hawks, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Mike Escamilla and Mike Vallely drive 3000 miles around the world from London to Los Angeles in just 8 days against 120 supercars in the famous Gumball 3000 Rally. ‘3000 Miles’ follows the action, adventure and Jackass style antics along the way, with fast driving, crashes and sabotage adding to the drama and mayhem. Drivers will be able to complete the 3000-mile rally with ease using T-Mobile MDA Compact III smartphones equipped with ALK’s new CoPilot Live 7 voice-guided mobile phone navigation system. Detailed maps for the entire route, including Western Europe, Turkey, Greece, Slovakia, and Albania, will be preloaded onto each driver’s device.
All Gumball 3000 drivers will receive a special edition of ALK’s new CoPilot Live 7 navigation system, incorporating an exclusive Gumball 3000 colour scheme and customised menus. Driver safety is the priority, with 2D or 3D maps only displayed when participants are close to a turn or junction to avoid distraction. A database of European safety camera locations is also preloaded onto each device, with on-screen warnings being displayed on the approach to each one. Drivers can also use a ‘request assistance’ button that will enable them to immediately contact a member of the dedicated CoPilot Live rally support team.

Gumballers to get a clean getaway with Meguiar’s

This year’s Gumball 3000 will see 120 supercars cover 3,000 miles in just seven days and Meguiar’s, the world’s leading manufacturer of car care products, will be on-hand, as the official car care supplier to the Gumball 3000 2007, to ensure each and every vehicle looks at its best throughout the journey.
A squad of Meguiar’s detailing teams will attend the official registration at the Sofitel St James London hotel in Trafalgar Square (Saturday 28 April) and will work on each of the 120 supercars prior to them lining up on the starting grid, on London’s Pall Mall (Sunday 29 April), ensuring each competitor is ready for a clean getaway. Meguiar’s products will also be available to the thousands of petrolheads, enthusiasts and autograph hunters gathered around the paddock and starting areas from the Meguiar’s stand.
