Gumball 2007: news update

Gumball countdown - 28 days to go!
Dear Gumballers,
Here we go…we’re just 28 days away from the flag dropping on Pall Mall for the 9th annual Gumball 3000 Rally!
Gumball is like nothing else - and no matter how many new rallies have emerged in recent years - there is nothing like Gumball - and this year you’d better be prepared for the most insane 7 days of your life!
Its the first time since 2000 we’ll be starting and finishing in London, and in just 7 days you’ll be driving 3000 miles alongside 120 amazing cars through 17 different language speaking countries, and experience the most incredible contrasts in terrain, cultures, and climates, that is certain to disorientate even the most well traveled of you.
If you’re new to this, be warned…Gumball is one hell of an endurance, and after day 1 finishes you’ll probably be asking yourself why you entered. By day 3 you’ll be acclimatized - and by day 7 you’ll wish it would last forever!
From now on you’ll get an update each week up to the rally - and will be advised of an itinerary of items to bring on a need to know basis. All you really need to know is that you have to be at Brands Hatch (just outside London) with your car for ‘REGISTRATION’ on the morning of Saturday 28th April. The key to the Gumball is to pack light, and sleep for the week leading up to it!
This year we have also taken on the role of building diplomatic relationships between several of the countries that we’ll be driving through - and as a result we’ve been invited to work with the United Nations - and during our stay in Albania the UN will be officially supporting us - and together will be helping to promote ‘peace and friendship’ in the region.
We have also established some fantastic new relationships this year with adidas Originals (look out for the Gumball driving shoe in stores at the end of this month!), Ray Ban, HTC mobile phones, Jaquet Droz watches and A1GP; and our ongoing relationships with Co-Pilot Live, Meguiar’s, Alpine Stars and Top Trumps will be present in an event greater capacity than ever before - so you’ll be loaded up with more gadgets, sunglasses, games, car detailer and apparel than you’ll know what to do with - so on the rally they’ll be no excuse for not looking the part!
Between now and the start there are a few pre rally parties and events, starting this Sunday, April 8th at Donington Park Circuit (For more details go to http://www.donnyshow.co.uk/ - If you plan on racing your car around the famous circuit you must arrive by 11am. You can collect your VIP passes at the entry gate.
And finally, on a logistical note, if you haven’t already provided “ALL DETAILS” of your car (V5/registration papers) driver details (passport/drivers license) Then you MUST do so immediately - as behind the scenes we’re busy sorting out import and export licenses for your vehicles. Also note that the car you submit to us cannot be changed - as these import/export licenses are for this vehicle only.
That’s all until next week…make sure that your car gets a good service!
Regards,
M
