London to Asia…and back in 8 Days!
Sunday 29th April - Saturday 5th May, 2007

3000 miles, 120 cars, 16 Countries, 8 days, 2 Continents, 1 Amazing Adventure!

After much speculation of how Gumball could possibly top last years ‘around the world’ extravaganza from London to Los Angeles, Gumball 3000 founder Maximillion Cooper has today announced this years route - even more ambitious than the last, travelling from London to Asia and back in just 8 days with a combination of partying, driving, and ‘flying’ the 3000 mile adventure!

‘Last year over a quarter of a million people lined the streets of London!’ Tony Hawk

Setting the benchmark as being the most rock ‘n’ roll car rally ever, the Central London start on Sunday 29th April will be the place to be: expect “Pure hell fanfare” (Bam Margera) as the flag drops on Pall Mall and 120 of the most amazing cars, rockstars, supermodels, billionaires and eccentrics set off for the ride of their lives, heading to their first checkpoint in Amsterdam during the Queens Day Birthday celebrations (where crowds are expected of over 1 million). From Amsterdam cars the endurance continues thru’ the night to reach a secret airport in Germany where all 120 cars will be airlifted by Gumballs own Antonov cargo planes to Asia.

‘Visualise all 120 supercars including Ferrari Enzo’s, Lamborghini’s and an amazing seven Bugatti Veryons driving off the Gumball Antonov cargo planes in Asia, now that doesn’t happen everyday!’ Adrien Brody (Oscar winner)

Upon touching down in Turkey, Gumballers then make their way 3000 miles to the finish line back in London, navigating the set route with their CoPilot GPS and partying all the way! Lunch at the Istanbul F1 circuit, then on to the Ciragan Palace on the shores of the famous Bosphorus River followed by dinner at the Renia Club. From Istanbul the adventure heads for Thessaloniki, and by evening reaches Athens in time for an extravagant rooftop party over looking the amazing Acropolis. From Greece the rally heads north, crossing ‘cold war’ borders and is ‘escorted’ by the UN into Albania where the participants will be hosted for lunch at the Tirana Presidential Palace, before driving onwards to the ancient walled city of Dubrovnik for dinner. Through Croatia the rally travels to Zagreb and into Slovakia, where Gumballs high rollers can push their finances to the limits at Bratislava’s famous Casino. Next day, the endurance continues on through Prague to Berlin – where east meets west as another glamorous ‘Bond style’ party will rock thru’ the night, as Gumball fever takes over Europe!

“This is just NUTS!” Johnny Knoxville

The last stage takes Gumballers back to London where the finish party is set to be Gumball’s biggest party ever, with a music concert and ‘Awards ceremony’ on Saturday 5th May. Fans will get the chance to cheer the winners of the coveted ‘Spirit of the Gumball Trophy’; and with bands flying in from around the world to perform live, this is one Gumball party NOT to be missed! ‘With Vogue magazine entering teams of supermodels, think Paris Hilton racing Jodie Kidd, and with ‘Bond girls’ everywhere, who is your money on to cross the finish line back in central London’

Editor notes: The first Gumball 3000 took place in April 1999, when British creator Maximillion Cooper invited 50 of his friends to take part in a 3000 mile party around Europe to bring together the music, film, fashion and sport industries. Eight years later, Gumball 3000 has become a lifestyle brand and consistently hits the headlines as ‘Cool Britannia’s’ most unique addition to pop culture, described by Vanity Fair Magazine as “the most rock ‘n’ roll car rally ever staged” and famed for its exploits and celebrity participation. The event annually attracts stars including Oscar-winning star of the Pianist Adrien Brody, Jackass’ Johnny Knoxville, Hugh Hefner, supermodels Jodie Kidd and Caprice, Kill Bills Daryl Hannah, action sports legend Tony Hawk, and rock stars including Snoop Dogg, Blink 182, The Fun Lovin’ Criminals, The Happy Mondays, The Darkness, Placebo, Jamiroquai and even Ms Minogue.

Gumball’s latest film ‘3000 Miles’ – directed by Maximillion Cooper following the adventures and ‘jackass’ antics of Bam Margera (Viva La Bam), Ryan Dunn, Tony Hawk, Mike Vallely and ‘Rooftop’ Escamilla on the rally from London to Los Angeles is released on DVD Worldwide by Revolver on Monday April 30th – go to www.gumball3000.com to watch the trailer.

And finally, with 2008 being Gumballs ‘10th Anniversary’ the event is already rumoured to be pushing the boundaries of entertainment even further with an incredible 3000 mile route of flying and driving from London to Moscow and onwards to finish in Sydney in 8 just days – it’s going to be HUGE!

“If Batman took a vacation, he’d do the Gumball!”

Since when Turkey is in Asia ???

It’s good copilot will be there to help the entrants.

Same story again, great super cars and many celebs. Nobody will show up once again…

Same old tricks to trap potential entrants.

    Boring, boring, boring :-(

The 9th Gumball 3000 Rally is going to be just the same as all the rest: Over priced and over hyped. Each year it is the same old promise of uber sports cars and AAA list stars none of which materialize. I have done the Gumball 3000 Rally and it does not compare to the other much better events. Plus is Max serious with the price. Last year it was £40k and this year its £28k or £24k if you have done the rally before. He has turned this event into a cash machine for himself and ruined it for the Gumballers. No wonder so many ex-Gumballers have gone out and produsced their own rallies. Ant and Pete have and then Nods too, which by the way I am hoping to do this year. Its not surprising how many players are going to do the Nods’ Carbon Black run this year which I might add is strategically running at the same time as the Gumball. On that run you do get performance cars and stars and even though we may have money to spend we still want something back for it and not to be ripped off as you are with the Gumball. I can tell you that the 7 Veyrons Max says will be on the Gumball this year is hype pure and simple. Not all of them will do the whole rally and some will be there for show only. He did this a couple of years ago with the Zondas. Only two ran certain stages. And as for bands flying in from all over the world, what a crock they are - no one has ever heard of them. Jay Kay was supposed to be on the 2005 rally but he wasn’t. Forget the Gumball and move on to better events with real people and real cars. RIP Gumball……….Max has got greedy

Turkey is both in Asia and in Europe. The cars will arrive at the Asian side of Istanbul, have fun at the F1 circuit, go through the Baghdad Street and then go to the European side, the route including the Bosphorus Bridge and Ciragan Palace, ending at Reina, the best club in Europe in my opinion.

  11. Heidi Says:

What time do the cars arrive at the airport in Istanbul? There are no bookings at F1 circuit and I have inside knowledge that Bernie Ecclston has bought the track and will not allow the gumballers to go there now. Help we need to see it and do not know times and places in Istanbul.
