Team 16 VW Samba powered by Porsche

Team 16 drive also this year in a Volkswagen Samba. It is a 1965 21 window deluxe Samba fitted with a 230hp Porsche 3.2 Carrera engine.
Rear axle and suspension are from a 3.2 Carrera Porsche 915 gearbox. Engine is standard other than 50hp nitrous fitted. Front suspension is Porsche 3.2 Carrera fitted to bespoke subframe with modified struts with pegout steering rack and electric power steering pump.
Brakes are servo assisted Porsche 993 4 pot calipers on the front; 3.2 carrera discs on the rear which are standard for 3.2 Carrera. The chassis has been strengthened and a strut brace fitted.
The bus also has an 18 inch screen that comes up out of the back of the front seats at the push of a button. An Xbox and dvd player keep the passengers quiet whilst the driver can keep himself amused with an external tannoy speaker system that can play music and has a microphone for alerting anybody that they have a cute ass.
The driver also has the pleasure of being able to, at the press of a button, shoot 3ft flames out of the twin exausts just incase the tannoy did not get their attention!

The system inside the bus is made up of a Pioneer AVIC-X1R dvd, av nav head unit, 6 disc changer, 400 watt amp, 10 inch sub, 2 6×9’s in the rear, mid subs and tweeters in the front doors. The bus also sports Safari front and rear windows, a fullset of pop out side windows. The bus also sits on polished 16in Porsche 911 fuch wheels.
Other extras are external oil coolers, engine bay fans on thermo switch, and large air ducts under bus.

absoloutly fantastic….can you guys e-mail me with the price of a porsche carrera 3.2 engine just like yours and it’s year, and if it would fit in a VW beetle chassis?, cause if so; you guys should do it with a fiberglass body and see the results.

I lov your splity! looking to build the same but a barndoor with a 3.6 turbo, any suggestions? also wanted to find out if you could send me large pix on the inside of yours and out side, hope to see you in the Gumball in a year or 2.
