It’s that time of the year when those whacky racers speed round the globe in the Gumball 3000 Rally. The 8th annual Gumball 3000 is the world’s largest cult car rally, combines Phileas Fogg’s quest to traverse the world in 80 days with a rock star style-tour – a 3000-mile adventure around the world, starting in London (April 30), making its way through Europe and Asia and finishing eight days later in Los Angeles (May 7).
The event begins in London on Saturday 29th April where Ministry of Sound will be throwing the exclusive Launch Party at the Trafalgar Hotel with Goldie Looking Chain doing a DJ set. Then heading down to the start line, the next morning to wave the crazy Gumballer’s off on their race. The start flag to the 2006 Gumball 3000 drops in central London on Pall Mall before hundreds of thousands of fans on Sunday, April 30. Here, 120 of the world’s most expensive, luxurious and eccentric cars, driven by an eclectic group of enthusiasts, will set-off on their adventure.
We’ll also be ending the race at the Playboy mansion in LA with celebrity hosts Ron Jeremy and Hugh Hefner presenting the Gumball awards and a Secret headlining DJ. We will also be throwing the official ‘Gumball rally 3000’ after party at Dokk Club in Budapest on Monday 1st of May. It’s the official party for the drivers and their VIP guests.
MTV, Channel 4 and Extreme sports will be filming the event; The Cuban Brothers will be performing live, for this top VIP bash.
